Stephen G. Brown has served in full time ministry for over 24 years, most of that time serving students and young adults. He has a passion for engaging people who may be overlooked, and for providing support and guidance toward purpose and fulfillment. In February of 2011, Stephen was elected to be the Lead Pastor of Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church (or GBBC) of East Dallas. This 87 Year Old Church “Re-Plant” has a Vision and Purpose entitled “The Greater Way,” which involves Loving (God & Others), Learning (The Way of Christ), and Living (a life of self-sacrifice).” During his short tenure at GBBC, they have experienced a renewed passion for the community, an increase in engaging and retaining new ministry partners, and a renewed commitment to providing relevant ministry to all generations. Stephen was formally trained at Morehouse College and Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Theology, respectively. He has been fortunate to speak at numerous conferences, revivals, and crusades from South Dallas to West Africa. He also partners with Para-Church ministries in the community, serving as a Board Member for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Ministerial Advisory Board of Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center. In the Fall of 2018, Stephen joined the Staff of Dallas Theological Seminary in the Career Services Department. Stephen is joyfully married to Dr. Nicole T. Brown, a pediatrician, and they have one son Stephen Nicolas (11), and one daughter Simone Elise (7).
